Teaching Assistantship...

I was in a state of confusion for the past week regarding the TAship. Initially, I thought I would be selective in applying for TAship. So, I applied only 3, though eligible for many. But, lately I realized that I may not get even one :). ITWSIII - 2nd time right, so they may say no.. MathsIII - Venkaiah, so he might choose among the students working under him... CL1 - might go to a Phd student of CL. I thought I wont get anything & did a mistake not applying for other courses.

But, luck patted my back again.. a mail from Bipin today saying that I am selected for the TAship for ITWSIII. wow.. kewl course. last year TAships..
2k3 batch - ITWSIII
2k4 batch - DS

Advs:

Personally, liked the ITWSIII course structure among the two, & the 2k4 batch ( many r hard working and look enthusiatic towards work ...but, may b that was B.tech 1st yr, hav to see now :) ). Now, ITWSIII for 2k4 batch. wow.. both favourites merge.

Already hav a gud idea wat the course is, structure & most imp. the professor. :) so, I guess I shuld be comfortable with this assignment.

Colleagues are all my juniors and one batch mate.

Disadv:

TAship for the same course again.. will it be ok? or will I be bored ?? Last year, I worked with gr8 enthu & the reviews were very good. ( thats also considered for TAship allotment, may b thats y iam given 2nd oppurtunity ). Will that enthu be there again ??

concl:

Will surely give my best at it.. but have to take care of few things, (1 - personally my grading is said to be lenient..hav to make it a bit strict, 2 - maintain timely grading of the assignments etc). neway, fourth year right, so can spend gud time on this & hope to do a better job :)

LOST+FOUND......but this many times !!!!!

The following thing might sound pretty strange & unbelievable, but its absolutely true...

Do u want to see the list of things I found at my PC (2.33) in the lab in the last one year...
here it goes..

cell phones 2
wrist watches 2 ( 1 is still with me... no one replied )
Headphones 2
Wallet 1
spectacles 1
Textbooks 3
Notebooks 5+ ( lost count actually )

I wonder wat the reason is. ( I disabled the guest account in my pc for the last month of the prev. sem, to escape from finding things :)) ). Is there some attractive force to that comp. that makes ppl forget exactly at that place ? neway, I tried to find if any interesting pattern exists abt y/what kind of ppl lose things ( using Datamining ;) ). But the conclusion is, no such interesting pattern exists. bcoz, the list contains ppl of all batches, both boys n girls & even a professor :). But there is one property in common.

All are busy IIIT researchers :D, so a bit of absentmindedness is inherited...

Note:

Iam happy that I succesfully returned each of the things to the right owner, except a wrist watch ( its a ladies watch.. if u the owner reading this blog, u might collect it from me :d ). Motivated by this strange experience, Iam planning to start a <[Lost+Found] club> at IIIT. In that case, it would be the most successful club ever, with more no. of ppl & lot of participation ( unlike the present dormant clubs at IIIT ). Wat say ???

I was christened by my parents "Arvind Krishna"... wow.. wat a beautiful name?? chala mandi disti pettinattunnaru.... troubles start..

1. Bcoz of my 7th class teacher's mistake, it got changed to "Aravind Krishna".. ( madhyalo 'a' cherindi ) in my certificates. :( so, had to settle thru out my life with the extra 'a'.

the pblem with that 'a' is, some ppl add it, some neglect it..thus no uniformity in calling me or writing :(( & I always have to clarify things, getting a weird look from the other side.

now coming to ids,...

2. yahoo id "aravind_iiit" ani petta. Some of my frenz kept insisting that I never come online & even if I do, never reply. I was confused wats the reason. Very recently came to know ( when some one asked me if its "arvind_iiit" or "aravind_iiit".. ) appudu veligindi. They have added wrong one. Later, I came to know that "arvind_iiit" is one of my senior's id. papam... naa valla kastalu ayanaku.. :)

3. now the real weird thing.... can u guess wat my students mail account at IIIT is??

its "arvkrishna" :))... daniki inko story undi. When I was in I year, the labcom at that time came to me & asked my name. I donno wat he interpreted as, he gave me this id, saying that "arvkrishna" is ur 200 account cum id.

since zero knowledge in computers at that time, I hesitated to ask them to change it, thinking that its a very hectic task & waste of resources :))..wat a pity ???

okkadiki gurtundadi chavadu aa tokkalo id ( including me at times ... :d ) Only +point is ... google search for "arvkrishna" gives all & only my pages..

conclusion:
enta mandi tittukununtaro nannu... enti veedi ids inta strange ga pettadu ani..
Iam sorry.. naa tappem ledu :d

Final twist,, do u know wat ppl call me here ??
